Captain’s Report – Terrey Hills
A beautiful Sydney day greeted the large field for our November game at Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club.
A field of 40 golfers, a mixture of visitors, new members and regulars assembled for the shotgun start.
To try something new the club engaged the services of a professional photographer, with a drone, to take footage and photos for the committee to use as promotional material in the future. The course looked brilliant and played hard, typical of this track, with slick undulating greens, ample bunkering and plenty of bush and water to capture those who weren’t straight. The white tees were generously forward but still only four players achieved 36 points or more. A first for the MBE Gold Club was the introduction of GolfLink to our monthly games, in an attempt to keep up with modern handicap rules and to prepare us for our turn to hose the national tournament in October 2020. It is important for all members and visitors to provide their current GolfLink number on the online registration form for each game.
The game ended and the field retired to the lounge area to enjoy a drink, finger food and to participate in a very quick AGM.
All committee positions were returned with the only exception is the welcoming of Simon Flack as our new treasurer, relieving some of the work load from our secretary, Graeme Degnan.
