Our return to Eastlake was much anticipated and we had 27 players for the event.

The weather was not looking good in the lead up with showers persisting right up to our 11.30am tee time.

Thankfully the sky’s cleared to provide us with an ideal autumn day, perfect for golf.

The course was in great shape, with lush fairways and true quick greens.

Not a lot of wind to speak of but this layout requires straight hitting to avoid the numerous hazards and lakes.

The scores were quite good with two players leading the field with 38 points and the average score of about 29 points.

The individual winner was the consistent Andrew Mckinnon with 38 points playing off a handicap of 13, followed by new member Andrew Danza who compiled 35 points playing off 12.

The two ball was taken out by Anthony Dods and Ken Burns with an impressive 46 points and runners up were slimline Col Billyard and Barry Morcom with 45 points.

Laurie DApice won the NTP on the 16th and no one claimed the prize on the second.

Our dinner was a fine selection of curries which seems to hit the spot after a game of golf.

Once again, this club is well organised and seems to appreciate our patronage and we will be back again next year.

We are about halfway through the 2026 Road to Concord and Sam Jooste is in front at this stage with a few regular performers nipping at his heals.

Our next game is at Bonnie Doon on Thursday the 11th of June hope to see you all there.
