Captain’s Report – East Lakes Golf Club 13/05/2025
Our return to East Lakes was unfortunately down on players due to injury and illness, all the best to those who had to withdraw and hope you have a speedy recovery.
We ended up with 22 starters which included one visitor, James Nguyen who was invited along by Barry Morcom. Welcome James and we hope to see you again.
The Sydney weather was once again a lottery, which by the look of the dark clouds to the south and west, we won this time as no rain fell during our round.
The course was in its usual good condition, although heavy in some areas due to the consistent rain over the past few months. The greens were soft and a little slow but rolled true. A good test of golf with plenty of hazards and undulations proved a challenge with only one player beating his handicap.
The event was well organized by East Lakes management, and we breezed through the round in just over four hours.
The club staff are very friendly and provided us with an excellent Indian buffet which was enjoyed by all, another successful day at East Lakes.
