Captain’s Report – The Coast Golf Club 06/02/2025
The assembled 34 golfers were eager to take part in the first game of 2025 on a hot and humid day at The Coast Golf Club.
This place is so popular the only way we could get on was with a single tee start which meant, and with daylight saving still in force, there was still plenty of daylight for the final group to finish at about 6.30pm.
The course was in great nick and is improving each year we play and is a credit to the staff being a council course.
The wind was about but probably as weak as it ever gets at this location and by the time we got on the back nine the golf ball was being pushed around a bit but I don’t think anyone could use it as an excuse if they didn’t score well.
Our group did score rather well with 8 players shooting their handicap or better, and two outstanding scores of 42 points by Graeme Degnan and 40 points by Barry Morcom.
When we finally all finished it was great to sit in the lovely cool clubhouse and enjoy the view and a fine Italian dinner.
The Road to Concord Competition kicked off and was roundly discussed by the membership.
The top 4 after round on are Graeme, Barry, Phil and Sam and a full leader board will be on display starting at our next game at Bankstown on March the 4th.
Congratulations to the following winners:
